Mawat Woakus Lodge 449
In January of 1990, the Shawnee Council, headquartered in Lima, Ohio, and the Put-Han-Sen Council, headquartered in Findlay, Ohio, merged their resources to form the Black Swamp Area Council, headquartered in Findlay, Ohio. Threee years later the Ketchikeniqua Lodge # 238 and the Eagle Creek Lodge #328 joined forces to form the Mawat Woakus Lodge #449. The arrowmen of the newly formed Lodge chose as their totem "One Gray Fox" (Mawat Woakus). In May of 1993, they issued their first lodge flap. This flap remained inplace for two years. Lodge flaps were the released in 1995, 1996, 2002, 2004, and 2006.
In the 17 year history of Mawat WOkaus Lodge, the arrowmen worked hard to bring harmony between the two Lodges by being awareded the E. Urner Goodman Camping Award in 2002. The Lodge continues its dedicated service to both Camp Berry and Camp Lakota. Mawat Woakus Lodge also has a record of being a National Quality Lodge 15 out of its 17 year existense with the lastest coming in 2009.
